Recharging and staying inspired in the new year

Hello, my lovely readers!

Okay, confession time: I totally forgot to post this blog yesterday. Life got in the way, think unexpected errands, endless to dos, and maybe a little extra time binge-watching my favorite show (oops!). But you know what? That’s life, right? And I’m here now, ready to share some bubbly inspiration to keep us recharged and motivated for 2025.

So, if the start of the new year feels a little overwhelming, or if you’re already wondering how to stay inspired and keep your energy flowing, this post is for you. Let’s talk about how to recharge those batteries and stay inspired for everything 2025 has to offer.

___

1. Embrace the messy start

Let’s be real: not every January 1st looks like a vision board. Some of us are still figuring out our goals or trying to recover from all the holiday chaos. (Raise your hand if you’re still munching on leftover cookies... because same!)

I woke up this morning thinking, "Fathima, it’s okay if you’re not 100% ready yet." Life doesn’t need to be perfect for us to start moving forward.

Try this:

🦋 Write down one small thing you’re proud of accomplishing so far, even if it’s just getting out of bed.

* Remember, progress is progress, no matter how small!

___

2. Create a "recharge toolkit"

What’s a recharge toolkit, you ask? It’s a collection of go to activities, habits, or rituals that fill your cup when you’re running low on energy.

For me, this includes cozying up with a good book, journaling my thoughts (or doodling, honestly), and blasting my favorite playlist while chilling. Having these little moments of joy makes all the difference.

Try this:

🌸 List 3-5 activities that help you recharge.

🌸 Keep your toolkit handy for those low-energy days.

___

3. Revisit your "why"

Why are you excited about 2025? What do you want to create, experience, or feel this year? Revisiting your "why" can reignite your spark when motivation starts to wane.

For me, my “why” is all about showing up for myself and inspiring you, my wonderful readers, to live a life full of self-love and growth. Every time I remind myself of that, it gives me a fresh burst of energy.

Try this:

🌈 Write down your "why" for the year.

🌈 Keep it somewhere visible, like your phone wallpaper or journal cover.

___

4. Rest is a power move

Let’s normalize this: rest is not the enemy of productivity, it’s actually the secret sauce. Taking time to rest and recharge helps you come back stronger and more inspired.

Try this:

💌 Schedule a "do nothing" day. Yes, actually put it in your calendar.

💌 Use this time to nap, read, or just lounge guilt-free.

___

5. Surround yourself with inspiration

Sometimes, all we need is a little external inspiration to get our inner spark going. Whether it’s Pinterest boards, uplifting podcasts, or hanging out with people who light you up, inspiration is everywhere.

Last night, I spent hours scrolling through inspiring quotes and aesthetic vision boards (and okay, maybe some funny weee videos too). It left me feeling so recharged and ready to tackle the week.

Try this:

🎀 Create a Pinterest board for 2025 inspiration.

🎀 Follow creators or influencers who inspire you.

🎀 Spend time with friends who uplift your energy.

___

6. Break big goals into small steps

Big goals can feel intimidating, but breaking them into bite sized steps makes them way more manageable.

One of my goals this year is to journal more consistently, but instead of aiming for daily entries, I’ve started with once/twice a week. It feels doable and keeps me inspired without the pressure.

Try this:

🍪 Take one big goal and break it into 3-5 smaller steps.

🍪 Focus on completing one step at a time.

___

7. Celebrate tiny wins

Let’s celebrate everything this year, no matter how small. Did you drink enough water today? Go you! Did you tackle a single item on your to do list? That’s amazing!

The other day, I cleaned my desk (finally!) and rewarded myself with my favorite chocolate. These tiny celebrations make the journey fun and rewarding.

Try this:

🥨 Pick a fun reward for completing a small task.

🥨 Write down your wins in a journal or share them with a friend.

___

8. Keep your space energizing

Your environment plays a big role in how you feel. A cluttered space can lead to a cluttered mind, while an organized, cozy space can inspire creativity and calm.

Try this:

🌷 Declutter one area of your home or workspace.

🌷 Add something that sparks joy, like a plant, a candle, or fun decor.

___

9. Learn something new

Starting the year with a new skill or hobby is a great way to stay inspired. It keeps things fresh and reminds you that growth is always possible.

I’ve been dabbling in drawing lately (think more "Pinterest fails" than "Artist" but hey, it’s fun!). It’s a small thing, but trying something new makes me feel energized and curious.

Try this:

🍩 Pick one new skill or hobby to explore this month.

🍩 Take an online class, watch tutorials, or just dive in and experiment.

___

10. Be kind to yourself

Above all, remember to be kind to yourself. Life happens, plans change, and sometimes we forget to post blogs on time (hi, me!). But self-compassion keeps us grounded and reminds us that it’s okay to be human.

Whenever I feel like I’ve "fallen behind," I take a deep breath and remind myself that I’m doing my best and that’s enough.

Try this:

🍫 Practice saying kind affirmations to yourself, like "I’m doing great" or "I am worthy of love."

🍫 Let go of perfection and embrace progress.

Final thoughts

So, my friends, whether you’re recharging, finding inspiration, or just trying to keep it together (like me!), remember this: You’ve got this. The new year is a marathon, not a sprint, and every step you take matters.

Here’s to a year of joy, growth, and endless inspiration! Let me know in the comments or over on Instagram @_fathimakader what’s keeping you inspired this year. I can’t wait to hear from you.

Sending you all the love and light,
Fathima 💗
